Went and done it again..:)
« on: May 25, 2007, 10:17:47 AM »
I bought another QB 78T and I was very surprised this time with how it looked when I opened the box.. It has a very nice wood stock with no apparent bondo.. The stain is walnut in color and the grain is fantastic. I bought this one for r&d work for a new project I am working on but now it looks like it is a keeper:) Sorry Ed, I will not be selling this one..:)   My first QB 78T .22 that I purchased a year or so back was a bloody mess.. lol The wood stock was a dark stain with no wood grain at all which I found out later when I stripped to stain it that it had knott holes and was full of bondo....:( So I painted it with black bedliner paint.  I am sure most of you have seen it in my photo album.

This QB 78 is a beauty and will keep it and  put a nice scope on it.. Probably will do some trigger work and a  CDT medium mod which you can find in our Library or on CDT's web site.. It is a .22 but I think like my other QB, I can manage 650 fps or better out of it..:) Maybe send it to Mike in Iowa for a ball buster tune..:)

Well Gene I am glad ya got a peach this time instead of a tart. As far as my QB I think my springers will still be my main guns... lol especially the B26-2 that thing just keeps on gettin better and better. Realisticly for 210 dollars to my door( that includes the Tasco GA scope) and then the little hacksaw job I did on the stock the thing is a true tack driver good to 50 yards or better.

Thanks John..:) For sure the springers are my number one choice as well. The B-26's are great air rifles and they really do keep getting better..:) I agree with you on that, and all my other springer rifles keep getting better as well.. hehe Still my Gamo's continue to be my air rifles of choice..:)
