Was Wondering...:)
« on: May 27, 2007, 12:48:46 PM »
How many Gamo Air Rifle owners out the have the 2006 and earlier S1K's and have bought a new Gamo Viper or similar Gamo? Was wondering if you have seen any major differences in the performance of the older and newer Gamo's..

Had a S1k that is now yours, and shot John's (JMG) Gamo "Big Cat" and the only real difference I saw was the bull barrel, which appears to be a thinnish barrel liner with a plastic sleave over it.  There were no open sights as I remember, but it came with a scope that could be adjusted by dropping it on a rock.  Same stock, same action, same, same, same except for the barrel and the barrel pivot that also seamed to be covered in plastic...like a Cadet or Delta...whatever you want to call it.  This is all just from memory, I don't have either gun in front of me at the moment.

Is there just a "one size fits all" adjusting rock????  or can you buy them in assorted sizes?? :)

you have to calibrate the "drop" of your scope I think, small rock...long drop, big rock....short drop....ask John, he'll know the specifics:)

I think his rock/drop combo was off though, his "calibration" ended up knocking the objective lens out of his scope.
