Looks like you did quite a job for your first tare down. Did you do a clean, lube, and tune while you were in there . Or just a clean and lube ?

Funny, that's about the third picture I've seen of an airgun torn down on someones carpetted floor in the last day or two........someones wife must be out of town:)  I had my B50 apart here at my puter desk once, but it was really late at night and my wife was asleep.....shh, don't tell her:)

Great Job Charles.. It took me amost a year to get up enough courage to tear one of mine down.. hehe. Looks like you have all the tools for the job as well..  I prefer the garage bench, cause I would be in a heap of trouble if I got that moly on the carpet..  lol

Go's for me too, wife would go native if she came in and there I sat covered in moly, airgun part's strewn about. Love my shop/ GTA dog house. :p Ed

Anyone else notice, but that spring is liek a foot and a half long.. jessssus. I remeber my shadow was like 12 inches..

I did a clean and lube and as for a tune I did reshape the ends of the spring guides, debur everything and my trigger should be here today or tomorrow. I cant find any other parts for this thing to do a good tune.

I did it in the living room so I could watch some TV on the 73”.

you're doing,     how hard was the rear "plug" to get out?
I don't have a two pin screw type fitting for my compressor.
Who did you do yours?

I just used 2 screwdrivers in the holes and a big screwdriver to turn in between them.

Remember to leave the trigger bolt in when you take the plug out so the spring will not fly out.

Thanks Chuck, I just didn't want to damage the end cap. How tight was yours?
and yes, I'll fist remove the trigger / anti beartrap stuff,
then replace the bolt,
then back out the plug
then set the compressor up against the inside and remove the bolt and back out
the spring.... does the sequence sound right?

My plug was loose when I tore it down.

The sequence is the same way I did it.

I did make a simple tool to keep the spring from getting wild on me. You can see in the first post just above my homemade spring compressor.

A socket with a 3/8 all thread and 2 nuts inserted into the spring to keep it from going sideways.




A good friend made this tool for me today to remove the plug.

You have a good friend for sure. I'll make me one too I think. I'll
make it out of some 1/8th steel flat from Home Depot and a couple of thin bolts.
Well, I'll keep you posted on how it goes, I have the extreme and a 1250 to do.
I'll do it after I get back from vacation.

I decided to make a new compact spring compressor that would fit in my gun toolbox.

Just slip it on the spring cylinder turn to lock-in and you’re in business.
No need to take scope or trigger off to operate.

Also made a barrel pivot pin remover so you do not need a hammer to drive the pin out.
