Tack Driving
« on: May 28, 2007, 11:36:57 AM »

I have a challenge for everyone.  Who can nail a standard thumb tack from the farthest distance.

I just nailed two with my CFX at 25 yards dead on.

Way to go Brian,

So that's some fine shootin your doing, heck, mighty fine shootin, so tell us a little about your CFX, like caliber, sights, tune/ no tune, trigger, humidity, :-) LOL

I might be able to keep up with you at 10 yards, but I don't think that I can see a thumb tack at 25 yards though ? Just gettin Old ! I guess.

Good challeng Brian.. I may try it at my normal distance of 40 yards if I can find the right color of tack..:) I am sure some of the other guys would have no problem hittin a tack at the distance you have set up..:) I keep my scopes set at the 40 yard distance and hate to re- adjust them .. hehe

Hmmm might take me 5 shots but I am sure I can do it with the B26-2 at 40 yards.

Beleive it or not and I am being completely honest I just nailed a thumb tack at 60 yards.  After guessing how much I needed to move my scope it only took me 3 shots.  I even got the whole thing on video.  Right now I am editing the clip slowing it down and working with the sound so you can see it really well.

Harder than it looks

Tried 5 push pins (becasue I've looked everywhere in the house and I don't have an tradtional tumb tacks)..this are about .346" in diameter. to make it worse, the push pins I found were clear.

Set up 5 at 25yards, pushed into a bit of scrap dry-wall.  Five pellets/five shots. Got 4 out of 5.Three must have hit the push pind dead on as it shattered the plastic head and left the little metal pin part stuck in the dry wall.  One got caught off center  and flung to the side.   Miss-judged the wind by a little bit and missed the 5th.

Ok, I found the tacks.. Put one  at 40 yards.. Took out my S1K. Fired a couple testers and loaded it up with a Superdome.. Pow. let if go. went to the board and all I found was the outer ring of the tack laying on the ground.. So I had a tack with no pin and it had a round hole in it....:) Where is my steak.. hehehe
