Well, got home from work and went on the hunt. I was determined to nail the tree rats damaging my bird feeders. I had one of my B-3's cradled in the gun vise in the basement, and that rifle shoots GAMO magnums in one ragged hole groups, so I decided that would be the weapon of choice. The other good thing about the rifle is how quiet it is, just a solid "thunk" when fired, so the game doesn't spook very easily at the sound of the shot.
As I walked into the backyard from the basement I looked over and saw one of the culprits at the feeding station. He was 15 yards away and hadn't noticed me yet. I leaned up against the house, put the crosshairs just behind his eye and fired. Immediately heard the "thwap" of the pointed magnum pellet striking pay dirt. The grey bandit shuddered for a second then went limp. He won't be chewing on any more feeders. :)
I stayed in the backyard for about another hour hoping another tree rat would appear, but it didn't happen. It started to rain so I took cover under the roof soffit. During the light rain I managed to nail 2 small pigeons that swooped in and landed in the trees above the feeders. Didn't take any pics of the pigeons due to the rain, didn't feel like getting the camera wet, but did take a couple of pics of the squirrel prior to the rain arriving.
Cleaned my kills, went inside and had fried squirrel and pigeon for dinner. Mmmm Mmmmm, doesn't get any better. :)
