Break Barrel vs Underlever
« on: June 06, 2007, 02:42:23 AM »
For you hunters out there that have both types of rifles, do you perceive any significant difference in accuracy or power between the two types that would make you choose one over the other?  I have several break barrels, and some cheap under levers.  The breakbarrels in my collection are more accurate and easier to load for me.  Would like your opinions before I drive up to Pyramyd and "invest" in a CFX.

Thanks

I have both but prefer under/side lever guns. For me, it's less of a Paranoia Maintenance issue. With underlevers no worries about barrel droop & side to side slop. On my break barrels, I'm constantly checking for both droop & slop.  Other than that, it's more or a preference type deal.

As far as getting a CFX... I'd do it. I've shot a few and like them ALLOT (even in an untuned state) and from what EVERYONE else that has one says...They're GREAT guns for the money!

I have both as well but for hunting I prefer break barrels for hunting especially at night as they are easier to load and quicker also & have had no probs with the barrel droop or slop YET keep on top of these things maintain your guns on a regular basis and all will be good.

Thanks for the replies guys.  I ordered one today, going to pick it up at Pyramyd tomorrow after 1PM.  I'm on vacation this week, didn't go anywhere, didn't do anything special, so might as well get a new air rifle  eh?  CDT you out there? Another trigger order coming at ya.
