Shadows Shooting Bench
« on: June 06, 2007, 07:59:21 AM »
Well between the stock camoing and getting some hunting time in I decided to build a shooting bench. Put all my scrap wood together and came up with this. I started off with the frame from some scrape metal, bolted it together and started laying some wood. I wanted a smooth surface so I layed on some white laminate and rolled some trim around the edges. Now I needed a pellet stand so I fabbed one and mounted it on the side. There is a adjustable rest mounted up front, a couple screws and nut's with wing nut's on top. I can adjust it up or down and I hang some weight off the front support for stability. I'm a south paw so it angles in on the left side and it work's fantastic. Ed

Great looking bench, Ed. It's amazing what you can come up with when you get an idea, look around at what you have and assemble it all into something functional and good looking. Good Job!

Thank's Ric, I'm the local packrat as Gene put's it hehe. I figure I can use all collectables for something LOL. I'm adding a small shelf underneath to hold extra target's and accessories and will be mounting a holder in back for a umbrella for shade. Ed

Ed, you have inspired me,hehe. I've got a piece of white corian 25x50 that I use for a fish cleaning board, laying across the tailgate. I think I will put some legs on it, about bench height, and let it serve double duty, hehe. I already have it measured and laid out just got to cut it and put it together.
