P-DOG HUNT
« on: June 06, 2007, 08:57:53 AM »
At last I got some time to get out to PrarieDog City and as I pulled up they shot for their holes, nothing new. I did the usual, camo on, Gamo 220.22 Hunter loaded with a Predator and slipped under the barbwire. I snipercrawled my way out to my favorite spot, a small rise right in the middle of the city and settled in. About 10min. past and they began to work their way back out so I picked out one directly in front of me and out at 40 yrd's. Slipped the safety off of the Gamo220.22 and placed the crosshair's on the head and let loose. I heard the impact of the Predator and watched the P-DOG roll over on his back, one down. Well I think I took out the baby because out of the hole popped a bigger one chattering. Rolled to my side, chambered another pellet and again placed the crosshairs on her head. She turned away right then but I had already let it fly but my shot still found it's mark a little lower, she dropped right there next to the other one. After that the city went dead, the new's was out that death stalk's the ground so I gathered up my two and headed out. I got home, cleaned em and put dinner in the icebox. One's just a small guy but he'll do just fine next to some sweet spud's. If anyone is looking for a FANTASTIC addition to their baby, check out the brake on the barrel. This was machined by Gene's AirGunToysforBoys...... and Girl's too hehe. Gene does some Super work and I'm proud to display his fine product on my baby, thank's buddy. Ed

Ok, I have to ask, What do they taste like?  Ed, I hope you are going deer hunting in the fall and putting some venison in that ice box as well.  It seems like you live in a great place to hunt.  How is that guy with the busted ankle doing?  LOL.

David, taste a little like rabbit but the meat is a little tougher so I maranaide them for a couple of day's with some homemade BBQ sauce. I do deer hunt with my dad in the fall, we have those big ol mule deer here and DIRTCLOD is almost healed, a couple of pin's in ankle and a slight limp hehe. I tuned the trigger on his CABELAS outfitter, B26-2 clone awhile back but still haven't taken him back to P-DOG city. I think he might be bad KARMA out there LOL. Ed

That story makes me laugh every time I think of it, lol.  We have the small variety of mule deer out here, but I took some nice ones out in Colorado when I used to go out there to visit my aunt and uncle.  I haven't seen them in a long time, maybe I should visit soon, lol.
