There's a program called "Fluid" that you can use to model valves....I have drawn a couple valve designs and then run them in Fluid to see where the bad points are. It shows pressure and velocity....pretty cool if you are into that stuff. I also have a program for modelling called "Catia", they use it at my work to create models that they can then "print" on a 3d printer......Star Trek stuff, freakin' magic!!! You can take a drawing into Catia, test the flow in Fluid from the models created on the screen, then "print" an actual plastic valve, or whatever you model on the 3d printer...I need to get me one of those:) Just waiting till they have a 3d printer that will "print" in aluminum. Not a CNC machine, this actually takes raw plastic and squirts it into a shape.
