Congrat's John, your gonna like her a lot and get used to no recoil hehe. Mine as already dropped her share of Blackbird's but I'm pullling the stock and re-do it and also replace the plastic trigger safty switch with a nice alumunum one to match the brake and shroud.Ed

Very cool John ! Always exciting to have a new arrival in the house.

I'm running the idea around in my head that I need a QB78D in .177 to keep my 2260 company in the CO2 corner.

Let us know how it shoots.

Figuring out the likes and dislikes of a new rifle is always fun...may be time to follow your lead so Brown Santa can stop passing my house by.

Have more fun...do it yourself.

Ok well I am just now coming inside after burnin through about 8 12g carts and hmm prolly about 120 pellets or so acqauinting myself with my new gun. All I can say is I am now spoiled. Unscrew the cap... put a couple of carts in, screw the cap back on (dont forget the 1/4 counterclockwise turn to release the Co2 from the 2nd cart.) slide the bolt back, pop a pellet in, slide the bolt forward and breath on the trigger lol. While pulling the trigger wait for the recoil of put your favorite springer here_______, and nothing happens. Watch pellet punch a hole in the shoot n see target ya got out at 30 yards. Then start cloverleafing that hole. Its just too easy.... I am kind of feeling like Ghallager and his sledge-o-matic. Watch female cowbird land in tree about 20 yards away to look down at you and see you playin with your new toy.Aim off hand at the cowbird's head right between the eyes and then watch it fall to the ground with out a shake rattle or roll. Just incredible. Guess what? My left arm isnt stiff. Guess what? I was using some leftover cheapy wally world daisy wadcutters. I honestly dont know what to think. I am in a whole new world. Usually when I get home from work after a long week I have a little frustration to take out. So yanking and cranking on cocking levers at the end of my work day usually relieves some of my stress. There was no yanking and cranking lol but this gun turned me into a for real marksman in about 30 minutes. It has taken me about 1000 pellets through each ofthe other 4 guns I have to be able to produce groups like I do withthis QB. Just amazing. For someone who doesnt know what to say I sure am rambling on arent I?

Ed, Gene has my brake and shroud ready I think but I cant remember if I gave him my addy to ship it. And a question for you.....your brake is now installed...did Gene's accessories help with the problem we arent spose to talk about? lol Ya know that rock n roll music can get kind of umm well ornery at times.

...you're screwed.  Will start wondering why of all the airgun types, the ONE type that recoils/vibates/jumps around has the most followers. There is something very nice about being able to watch the whole sequence, from trigger to target, without losing sight of the critter or miss the impact.

I really dont think so. I think for me it will be a novelty thing and it will wear off... lol after I buy the 20lb carbon dioxide tank so I dont have to keep on unscrewing the cap. LOL about the only thing I see happening is me becoming a lazy shooter with this gun. And honestly that bothers me a little. Read my reply to Peakchick about her B26 hehe you will see what I mean.

Ok...but why did match shooters jump on recoiless guns so quickly  (here we'll include the recoiless springers as well)?

In FT, are the Springers kept seperate from the others becasue of their power...or becasue of the disadvantage of recoil?

IF you can connect more easily, nor consistantly, wouldn't that be more ethical for hunting/pest shooting?

Solution: hire a small child to wack your shoulder with a plastic bat every time you shoot just so your springer-shooting won't suffer.

I do believe that in FT the pcp/Co2 guns are in a different class than springers or pnuematics. I love the idea about the kid I am still chuckling over that one hehe.

The only valid complaints about co2 are
(1) it's temperature sensitive.

That's not a big deal if you shoot at a resonably pace and keep the rifle's temp. stable. Day to day temp. canges can screw your zero. Still, most days it doesn't change temperature by 20 or 30degrees, so its more a seasonal problem than a day-to-day problem.

(2) It costs more.

Using the best local prices, am paying about $.032 per gram for 12gr. powerlets ( $15.43 for a box of 40 cartridges). That works out to  $14.00 for the gas to fire 1000 pellets.

Bulk fill costs a good bit to set up (tanks. adators, hoses, etc.) but the local proce is running about $.006 per gram (and that depends on the shop's urge to rape and pillage and how much you waste goofing off squirting things). That works out to $6 of gas to fire 1000 pellets.

So if you intend on shooting a whole bunch, saving $8 per 1000 pellts will pay for the bulk fill equipment mighty fast.
------
With that said, I still haven't bulked any of mine. Generally, my shooting is more about a few shots a session, with long breaks between each gun gets an outing, so cartridges do well for me.  My day-to-day shooting (and I do shoot a little EVERY day) gets doen by two very inexpensive air rifles:

Yep...the dreaded "D's"...but considering my back yard range is only 25yards, and the only live targets at home are pest birds, they work fine for every day practice.

Fortunately... hehe I work at a place where we build gas hauling semi trailers. We have Co2 and nitrogen on tap. And I am sure I can find all the fittings needed except for the plug to replace the cap. Which I have seen those for about 20 bucks so my in the cheap mode will still continue hehe.

Hey John,

It's good to see so happy with your new baby. And I wish you and her well.

You fellows sure like the easy way though, no pumpin, no recoil, and all, seems that you might be a little smarter than us spring heads !!!LOL
