Well, the wife and I returned home yesterday from our South Carolina vacation so I once again have access to a computer so I wanted to say Happy Fathers Day to everyone. I hope you all get exactly whatever it is you were hoping for.
As for me,,,, the .22 cal CFX that I bought without the wife knowing about wound up becoming my fathers day present from her and the kids. I was deeply concerned about the wrath I was going to face when she found out about my new purchase, but, it all worked out well (Thank GOD) and the fathers day "factor" saved my butt"

She still gave me that "look" when I told her I had picked out and bought my fathers day present, but the "look" finally went away and was soon replaced with a small smile (notice I said small smile).
As for our trip,,,, I was never able to make it to the "S.C. Shootout" like I wanted to, the vacation schedule wound up just over ruling that option, but my heart was there in spirit.
As for South Carolina,,, it was my first trip there and I must say it is a beautiful state. Beautiful woodlands, beautiful beaches and super nice people. I will go back there again on my next vacation. Matter of fact brought home real estate material and may start looking for a retirement location.
I will end this by remarking on what have to be the biggest squirrels I've ever seen in my life. While on vacation we went to this old plantation tourist place, think it was called "Brook Green Gardens" just outside Myrtle Beach. 9,000 acres of the most beautiful land I've ever seen, and running around this place are the largest squirrels I've ever seen in my life, I'm talking HUGE!! They looked like regular squirrels (except for the size) but they had this large dark brown or black fur around the eyes. A sign on the plantation said they were "Southern Fox Squirrels". Never saw squirrels that size in my life, all I kept thinking was "where's my airguns?

".
I've heard Gene a couple of times mention this monster squirrel that lives near his house, must be one of these bad boys .. I'm thinking of retiring there just to shoot those squirrels.

Anyway, I digress,,,, Happy fathers day all.
