just bought my birthday present today
« on: June 18, 2007, 09:11:32 AM »
Being that my birthday and Fathers day is one day apart this year, all I got was cards wishing me a happy fathers day. today's my bday , didnt even get a card, yet.  but I did order a 78D, 22 cal from Bestair.
the order has been processed and shipped, will arrive tomorrow. is that fast or what.
Now with fingers crossed as I'm writing this, I hope the fast processing and shipping doesn't mean bad things.
Gonna make a carbine out of this baby.
wish me luck.
OH only live 200 miles away from bestair. san antonio boy, LOL

Happy Birthday Buster..:) I get phone calls on fathers day and birthdays.. And that is fine with me.. Always love hearing from my kids anyway..

And congratulations on your families newest addition..:) Will you be handing out cigars?  hehe
By the way I was able to see one of the new Deluxe QB's this weekend and it is dang nice. I know you will be happy with it. Great fit and finish, not to mention the accuracy..:)

This is only the second Chinese gun I have bought new. the first a TF15 came with a tag stuck on the stock, pia to get off and all that grease to clean up.
This QB Delux that came in was almost clean, the stock, the bore and no extra grease all over the stock or action and no tag stuck to the stock. is this normal.
to all those who have gotten one straight from a dealer, did your guns come in that clean or what. this one looks like someone took the time to do a good job on it, minus a couple scratches. do you think it might be a returned gun.
Mike , you get yours by the case, are they clean or, are they greasy and have that stuck tag.
Thanks

Pics

havent gotten a chance to do much but look at it. I did wipe it down to see if any oil , but only a little around the underside of the breech . but this thing is clean.  see the small scratch, not much, but maybe it was returned because of that, some are that paticular, me , its not bad. I'll  probably put more on it.
will check it out really good , later.

I don't think they tag the delux's, the two I got from the Archers didn't have it last year.  I ran a bunch of stocks through the engraver and tried everything from glue gone to 91% rubbing alcohol.  By far the best turned out to be plain old WD40 (Kerosene-USA/Parifin-UK).  Let the WD40 soak and they come right off.

Only with the scoped QB78d can I get that proverbial clover leaf at 20 yards in five pellets.  It's good for me as a begginer cause now I know even I can do it and judge backwards towards my skill with springers.  I find that when I get frustrated with myself on a springer on a bad day I can just pick up the QB and I can hit what I aim at again.

Cheers
Mark
