Arrrgh... Schedule change.
« on: June 19, 2007, 02:54:54 PM »
Well, I haven't been on GTA as much as before. Probably a good thing though! More new posts to read when I do come on! LoL  :D

I just got a new job and have pretty bad schedule.... GRAVEYARD. Sunday-Thursday, 10pm to 7am. I got tired of long hours sittin behind a desk all day gettin fat, so I went out and got me another Maintenance job. I'm a Human Wrench again. On a good note though... All the critters seem to be out in the backyard when I get home! I can get some early morning hunt'n done YAY!

Hey Sam,

Graveyard's a though shift to get used to, but when you have some critters waitin for you when you get home, it gives you something to look forward too.

One good thing that will come of this, you have all day to shoot, without interruptions...hehehe,he

The best of luck on your new job.

Yes, as much as I tried to bad mouth the Talons I am pretty happy with my SS so far.....although I still think these things are ergonomically challenged.  Mine has ULTRA high Leopold see-thru rings and it is just about right, although now if I sight in at 15 yards I am way high at 30 yards....oh well, such is life:)

I am now looking to possibly sell my B50 and buy a 24" barrel for my SS...ya know, cuz it'll look more cooler like that!

Hey Sam... Are you working for Waste Management? I used do quite abit of business with them in the 70's and through the 80's..  I have just sold my Sumatra and just put the money in the bank today.. Gettin close buddy..:) Got to figuer out a way to out do Kirby and Dano.. hehe.. Maybe a 30" barrel...:) I am watchin Kirby and Dano real close in order to get the right TalonSS so I don't have to do much modding to it, but you know that ain't gonna happen.. hehe.. Been busy working on the new CFX brakes this week and probably next week as well.. Don't burn yourself out Sam and good luck with your new job.

Well, if you're that high at 30 yards, then you'd probably be spot on at 50 Dano!  :D

You got it Gene! I work at one of the material recovery facilites as a Diesel Mechanic & Site Maintenance Mechanic. Fun stuff I guess. I just found out this morning that we're most likely goin on strike starting this Sunday... Whoopee!!! I'm still on my 90 days probation and I'm finding myself in a loop hole.......If I go out on strike, the company can fire me. But if I cross pickett lines, I'll be labled as a scab and discharged from the union... Stressful to think about.

I'd say just get a brand new stock on Gene. Mine isn't all that bad at all. The only thing I think needs improvment on them is the trigger and the safety. Other than that, the other mods are fairly simple and straight forward. How are those brakes commin along??? I got my new .22 CFX a couple weeks ago but I've only gotten about 4 rounds down range with it. Feels the same as every other factory CFX 've shot though. Rough Recoil, REALLY twangy and half a mile of Creep in the trigger. It's easy to cock though!  :D

What location Sam? I know just about all of them..:) Well as far as the CFX brakes go Sam, I am in production. Have a couple made already and plan on doing a couple every day this week. I am making them out of Aluminum and Delrin. The Aluminum ones seem a bit heavy but the Delrin is very lite. I am shipping one off tomorrow, so just let me know when you are ready and which one you want. My CFX brake is between .0800 and .0900 O/D. Quite a bit smaller than the stock Gamo brake. Same length though.. 6" long.

I'm at the Davis Street Transfer Station in San Leandro, CA.

Sounds good Gene!  I've gotta get this thing tuned and a CDT Trigger installed. I'll probably be hittin you up soon for one of those brakes too! The factory one is butt UGLY!  Do your brakes have the locking lug for the cocking arm?

Yes Sam, It is a recessed allen head screw that holds the locking lug in place. I machined a slot for the lug so it is straight and cannot move.
And I used to work in San Leandro..:) I managed 13 transmissions and differential remanufacturing companies in the 70's through the 80's and San Leandro was one of our facilities along with 12 others..

Sounds good Gene! Any pictures of em? I'm too tired (read: LAZY) to search right now  :)

Right on! So you know about one of my "Hang Outs", the  Davis Street Rifle & Pistol Range then. And how the Dump used to let people come in and shoot rats on the weekends! They don't do that any more though, and the old slaughter house.
