Want to try one next.

Has the thicker barrel (like the delux and the AR's)...the combination bultank/ barrel band looks like a stronger set up (or can be made to be more stable)...mounting screws in the fore end of the stcok might make a solid bedding possible.  So i will try one sooner or leater as I think the listed three items might make it interresting.

really not a "bulk guy", and that's not a plus for me....but with a small thin bottle, might learn to like it.

Of course it is probably cheaper but not to be looked down uppon. I have two of them and they shoot fantastic. Clover leaf's when there is no wind at 30 yards. The QB8 Deluxe is very pretty, much more finishing than the QB 79..  Ed and Kirby just got one of Mike's Deluxe's and I saw Kirby's and fell in love... hehe

Both of them fit my shoulder well.

Pictures below are my two Bulk fill QB 78's.. one was a .22 moded and the other was the .25 moded by Mountain Air.. I have since sold them and bought at QB 79 .22 from Archer Airguns about a year ago. It is a QB 79 which I prefer over the standard QB 78 only because I get around 400 shots per bottle. I have bought another QB 79 from Archer just recently and will be doing a reveiw on it as soon as I am finished R&D on it..:)

what about some people claiming the regular qb stock is uncomfortable, how bad is it?
also ribbonstone when you say also has the larger barrel you mean the qb 79 right?
i bet that the qb 79 with a tune could be a real mean shooter  :)

the older stocks dont have the butt pad like the D model have.  not uncomfortable, but you have to get used to it.
the D on top the older 78 on the bottom.

Don't find the original QB's stock to be uncomfortable and the length isn't bad for a normal sized person.  Rubber butt pad would have been nice, and i might have bought the 78D model if it were avaialable at the time just for that. Not that they recoil, but a rubber butt pad does let you stand it up with less chance of slipping and it's darned hard to crack a rubber butt pad.

The delux version and the 79 both use the thicker diameter barrel from the AR2078's...it's only about 1mm larger in diameter, which isn't a whole bunch, but does make for a little more weight forward where it does the balance the most good.

Both the 78 and the 79 have the same basic butt stock...only the length of the fore arm is different.  It's a small stock, but it does fit surprizingly well. Certainly isn't a perfect stock, but it does work well with iron OR with a scope.  the delux version seems to keep that well thought out shape.

The target version DOES have too short a stock...that one does need to be longer, and Mr. Archer has a version that cures that problem (as well as selling an extender to retro fit older guns). The one pictured below has an inexpensive adjustable butt pad fitted... needed the length.

Now I've got to justrify antoher QB....may not go with the 79 as bulk fill doesn't thrill me right now...but I'd have to figure in the $ to rebarrel one to either .20 or .25 to justrify it a place in the safe.

But i like the stock feel and fit well enough that I'd proably keep the issue wood (may refinish it after i bugger it up hunting for a year or two, but that's about it).

The 79 is as accurate as the 78, some have good barrels others require alot of work to get them to shoot straight. The only problem that I have is the number of gas tubes that leak where the adapter is installed, get questions all the time on how to fix the problem. The weight of the bottle seems to distort the tube after awhile. It's not a big problem but it's the one that drives me crazy trying to fix.

Thanks for sharing
