Animal with Psychic Powers ??????

Hello All,

When you stop laughing,...... I would like to ask if any of you, that hunt, have come across animals that seem to notice you, just as you are about to shoot ?

I have had incidences of deer, mulling around my tree stand, suddenly turning as I prepared to shoot them. I had this happen with bow and rifle,close to medium ranges. As I aimed to place my shot into a spot in the kill area, with no noise at all, from me ! The animal would suddenly turn and look right at me, and some would bolt, others, die.

I have over the years, experimented with this phenomena. I once watched a deer walk up to my tree stand, and I had my rifle at the ready, but did not want such a small deer, as it was early in the season. The deer feed around my tree for several minutes, so I placed my sights on the heart/lung area, nothing happened, and then I began to think that I would place my shot just behind a small patch, just inside the kill zone. Well the deer bolted and turned in my direction looking for something, then split !

Another time while bow hunting, I dropped arrows from my tree stand, next to a buck that was eating acorns around my tree, he just looked to see what made the slight noise. When I had my bow at full draw, and picked the spot that I would shoot him, he turned and looked right in my direction. Not seeing me he went back to feeding ???

I have seen this many times, and have adjusted my way of thinking so not to spook game animals that I wanted to take.

I have discussed this with other hunters, and some of the older ones have noticed this, and some of the disbelievers say that they have noticed this after I mentioned it. Others however just think that I shouldn't be allowed out of the house by myself ?

But I can assure you that I have papers attesting to my sanity !

Maybe someone could take a second look at those papers for you, lol.  You have to think that animals have pretty good instincts, and you may not think you did anything to attract their attention, but some small thing caught their eye.

I agree with you Bill, just like some of us can tell when someone is staring at us, or behind us with out ever seeing them or hearing them. You can "feel" them.  I am blessed or cursed with an oversensitivity in that area.   I think when you are preparing to shoot your prey, your focus is at its highest intensity and some beings pick up on that.  They probably don't know what is going on, but it makes them uneasy.  Just my opinion.

The 6th sense my friend, we all have it but we just dont use it. They also have killer hearing and a great sniffer. I always check the wind direction when I'm hunting, be the tree, be the bush hehe. Ed

I also tend to believe that animals have the ability to detect, or "feel", the presence of threats using senses other than the tradition sight,sound and smell senses.  I also believe humans to have the same ability, although of course the degree of perceptive ability, like anything else, varies with each individual animal or human.

Long story short,,,,,,, you are perfectly sane, I agree with you and if using thought blocking techniques to keep your quarry from detecting your presence works for you then I would keep doin it.  Matter of fact, I may try that myself and see if I notice any appreciative difference in the behavior patterns of my target.    :)

David,(dw33) I know how to select a stand, and watch the breezes and any changes. I am also well trained in "silence in the combat zone", believe me noise was not part of this situation. I have observed deer and bear for many minutes, up to 30 minutes, and they wondered off, as they wondered in.

I also watch and listen for the activity of birds and other animals like squirrels and chipmunks, always a good indicator of something out of the norm.

I have observed many interestingbehaviors during my time in the woods, as most often, hunting is waiting, watching and listening.

Now I know that I'm crazy,..but it keeps me from going insane !

I have seen this to often for it to be a coincidence. I began to wounder if it were me giving off some stronger vibrations than others ?

I too believe that we all possess a 6th. sense, some more, some less, others repress this and deny it exists. I know that my time in Southeast Asia helped me develop mine. The men with this developed 6th. sense were sought after, and unfortunately ended up point men, good with sniper and ambushes, but not to well with booby traps.

Hey,  Bill , that just makes you normal.  hehe I too have witnessed this 6th sense and I've never figured out how eye contact can turn one (deer) inside out. whew !!! they gone. Gotta get back in the woods more this year , I miss it. kirby
