......but couldn't find two squirrels to rub together to make a spark.....dangit Ed!
The rain has stopped for now. My sister flew in from California at about 4:06p.m. this afternoon. Anyone that knows anything about DFW Airport knows those boys don't move ANYTHING if there is lightning. Well, cool thing is it was pounding rain/thunder/lightning here in Fort Worth, but didn't hit the airport till about 4:20p.m., so my sister made it off the plane ok. Bad thing was the 24 mile drive home from the airport took 2 1/2 hours because part of the 820 freeway flooded. Bummer for my sister and my wife....I had to work, got home about 4 in the pounding rain and watched tv while I fiddled with my airguns for 2 1/2 hours:)
It's getting really bad in parts of North Texas. Me and my family are safe, most everyone else I know is also safe, but there are plenty of people that have been displaced just like John said. They said on the news this afternoon that we got 3" of rain in 2 hours today....when you live in a state such as Texas that is pretty much flat except for the washes, water tends to flow anywhere it wants to. 3" in 2 hours will pretty much flood anything that is floodable...there isn't a ton of high and low ground, just flat and washed out. Will be thinking of and praying for those folks that aren't gonna have a 4th of July to celebrate about this year.
