2240 Blackbird
« on: July 01, 2007, 11:54:01 AM »
Thought I would pop out back and do some target shooting before the sun set for the day so I pulled out my 2240 and a tin of Predators and headed out. I had just mounted a new Red Dot scope on her, it's a cheap Crosman but I'm impressed with it so far. I went with the barrel mounted dovetails and I've had no movement from it at all, everything is snug and solid. Anyway here I am throwing some lead at my 25yrd target stand and out of the tree's comes this pest to investigate the noise. I drop to one knee as he lands on my target post, dumb bird hehe. I load up a Predator, placed the red dot on his chest and let loose. I watch as the pellet passes right through him and he just drops stone cold dead. The new scope seems to be holding up and sighted in ok and another pest takes a dirtnap. };) ... The brake is from Gene's (AirGunToys) and the Grips are from Mike aka (Bullseye). Both make a fine addition to my baby. Ed

The 2240 is stock except for some trigger and spring mod's and I replaced the plastic safety knob with a custom made one from brass. Ed

Only thing left for me to do is to spray on the 2 or 3 coats of clear coat.  Was gonna start that this afternoon after I got home from work, but overtime became available so I worked a double shift.  I hate workin O.T. but I don't get it to often so I just couldn't pass it up.

So,,,,, tomorrow afternoon when I get home I'll start the clearcoat so I can hopefully post a pic in a day or so.

Believe it or not I just finished my work day, was lookin forward to gettin home and spraying that clear coat, and another double shift opened up so here I am still at work.  I can't get a break  :(

I know,,, I think I'll hit the order button on the QB-78d I want,,, yeah,, that'll work,,, and I can use the overtime to pay for it   :)

Gotta think about this one............

You have the right idea now Jeff,

When you receive a positive from that O.T., It won't seem that bad. And the next time it's offered, you can start thinkin bout another baby !! Or maybe a GOLDFINGER in .20 cal !
