The data is contained in the following website:

Y ARCHIVE
http://yarchive.net/gun/index.html

More than you really may want to know about who really makes scopes and where they get the lenses (yep, them really high end $$$ units made over in the old country).  The information is a bit dated, circa 1997, but I figure the game is played much the same today (think "Made in Zhongguo").  The author(s) are somewhat well known and have a pretty good following.

The more you read of it, the more ................................

The data specifically related to the scope lenses is found at this URL:

Very good info for all of us. I had seen similar info in a few places. I'm of the understanding that the best lenses in high end cameras, including european big names are all made in China now.

I was surprised recently when I bought a 3-9X32ao Golden Antler Tasco scope and found that it was shipped to me via Bushnell. When I buy a scope it is generally for clarity. I have had no luck with the BSA 3-9X32  scopes. When I recently was tasting different air guns at a shootout, I took notice to the Tasco Golden Antler compared to the BSA scopes. I had given up on the BSA's quite a while back and switched to the Simmons under $200.00 dollar range brand scope which were much clearer than any of the other scopes in that price range. Although after reading your post and the links, it may very well be that the Simmons brand may have a higher quality controle on there lenses. It is also is a surprise about then Nikko scopes, from what I read in the links you provided.
