CFX Arrived and ordered 3-12X50 Nikko Stirling
« on: July 06, 2007, 12:45:12 PM »
I ordered a .177 CFX about 5-6 weekes ago and it (and I) finnally arrived at my house at the same time. I shot it about 50 times unmodified and it is VERY different from the Crosman 66 Powermaster that I had before. It has kick and the pellets move WAY faster. After those first shots I put on a GRT-III trigger. The trigger changed the rifle drastically. I no longer put the sights off target as I squeeze the trigger. The trigger is really worth the small price. And it was VERY easy to install. Finding the little clip I dropped took longer than the rest of the install.

I have a 3-9x40 Bushnell (paralax corrected to 20 yards) on my crosman and bought the CFX open sights....so I needed to get a scope for the CFX. I just ordered a Nikko Stirling 3-12X50 Tactical Air Rifle Scope (30mm Tube) with Illuminated Reticle & One Piece Mount from airgundepot.com. I know it is a big scope and I really hope it fits without blocking the loading port.....I choose it because of all the good reviews I have been reading here about the nikko strirling series. I will write this one up when I get it.

I just really wanted to say thanks for providing SO much reading material here at this site. It has been a great help. This site and ya'll all are a great resource.

Congrats Martin on your new shooter.  You made a good choice,,, you're gonna love that gun.  I have a large leapers scope on my .177 CFX and it didn't cause any loading problems at all.  Looking forward to your review of the gun.

BTW..... my .177 CFX just loves the GAMO tomahawk pellets and they work great on game.

Hey Ric,

I have a Leapers 3x9x50 mildot illuminated reticle on my .177 CFX,,,, love that scope.  I have a couple of those scopes mounted on several hunting guns, they've all performed wonderfully for me.  Matter of fact my GAMO 1250 .22 as one of em sitting on top of her and it's held up to the 1250 with no problems at all.

Hi Martin,

Please let us/me know what you think of the Nikko when you get a chance to give it a shakedown.
