After reading the recent post made by DAMAGE regarding his hunting successes with hollow points I decided to "revisit" my collection of hollow points, which have been for the most part sitting neglected on the back of my pellet shelf. I've been hunting with the predators for the most part with my .22 guns, but I decided to test out my small collection of hollow point pellets in my .22 RWS 350 Magnum , find which one grouped the best and resight the gun in for them and take it out hunting.
I only have 3 hollow points on my shelf, RWS Super Hollow Points, CPH's and of course the Crow Magnums. All 3 shot and grouped well, but the clear winner in my gun was the RWS SHP's , which repeatedly gave one ragged hole groups at 30 yards, so the gun is now sighted in dead center for them.
I've used the RWS SHP's in my GAMO Black Shadow .22 plenty of times on squirrels and they've worked exceptionall well, but I'm looking forward to using them in the 350 on the larger woodchucks that inhabit the duck farm I hunt on. My next days off I'm gonna get out there and hunt some G-hogs and see how they perform on the larger game. I'll post my results.
