Ordered 2 QB78 Deluxe rifles
« on: July 12, 2007, 03:50:22 PM »
Ordered 2 QB78 Deluxe rifles today from Mike at flyingdragon,,,, 1 in .177 and 1 in .22 caliber and mailed off payment prior to going to work.  After reading Ed (shadow) and the others rave about their rifles I just had to have one,,, but since I couldn't decide between a .177 or a .22 I ordered one of each  :)

I just got the order confirmation email from Mike a little while ago,,,   I'm really psyched about getting these guns.  :)

Congratulations Jeff. I was over at Bob's last night and Tim, one of our members, a smart young man was there discussing some of the advantages of converting the QB-78's over to HPA. He had one of Bob's tuned QB's .22 hooked up to a HPA tank and it was spitting out pellets at around 850fps. For sure I was impressed buy it all. FYI you can switch back and fourth between CO2 and HPA without any converting. This would make the QB an all season shooter. Just need a fitting and a regulated bottle to screw into the front where your air lets would normally go. Anyway I know you will enjoy your QB very much. They are very accurate as well.

Good Luck

Thanks guys,,,, I'm really psyched about the guns,,,, can't wait to get em.

I was really torn between which caliber to get, I wrestled with the problem for awhile cause I really couldn't decide.  Ordering one of each was the only way I could solve the dilemma and I figured what the heck,,,, figured I'd wind up ordering another one anyway in the future so just do it now.  I had some extra money from some overtime I worked and if I didn't spend it on the rifles I knew I'd wind up spending it on something else anyway.

C02 is brand new for me, I'm sure it will be a learning experience.  I will probably have about a thousand questions for ya's after the rifles get here and I start shootin em.  Figured in the meantime I'd start doing some research and reading to try and get down some basic C02 knowledge.

So the valve and all the rest simply works under HPA rather than CO2 with no mods?  That sounds great, what HPA preasure do you fill them to safely?  I should start getting a parts list together for HPA sometime soon.

Cheers
Mark

I ordered my QB D from  Flying Dragons, and have no regretts.  Mike has answered my many questions, has great products, and is always there to help solve problems, but best of all he stands behind his work . Iam new to air gunning and this is my first CO2 and Iam sure glad I choose Flying Dragons to do buisness with.  Iam having a blast shooting and learning about air rifles.

Hi Pete,

I have plenty of springers but these rifles will by my first adventure with C02

I'm very much looking forward to shooting them and learning the C02 aspect of airgunning.

I know what you mean about having a blast learning about air rifles,,,, I never would've thought at 50 years of age I'd find something that just totally consumes me, but air rifles have quickly become my passion.  Just can't get enough of em   :)

I am with you Jeff...when I bought that first Beeman wallyworld special a few months ago I never would have imagined in a million years that I would have 5 airguns a few months later... and the 6th is in the mail somewhere between Ma. and Tx lol. And it is kind of funny how this sport gets in your blood and consumes you. All of us are pretty much in our midlife and I am sure we have all been through the thing where an acqauintance asks what you are doing and you start talking about your airguns and you start rambling on and on about this feature or that feature and they are just looking at you like you have lost your mind playing with your daisy red ryders. And then you laugh at what he/she has said and explain to them what the deal is and invite them to shoot some of your guns..... and guess what? It all starts again hehe another person gets sucked into the airgun vortex. We go out and buy the first one then hit the internet to actually get some information on whatever it was we bought. Then we realise no matter how many firearms we have owned, no matter how much game we have taken with them, no matter how many shells we have reloaded, no matter how well we shot our firearms..... we step into the airgun world and are complete infants. When we were kids and had our red ryders or crosman pumpmasters, or in my case my Beeman R1, we didnt give a flying rats tail what the FPS was or FPE was.....scope cant???? LMAO all we cared about was did the thing cycle and did the thing shoot and could we hit that soda pop can, bottle, starling or whatever it was we were aiming at. Now that we are adults and have some dough and no parents telling us no you cant have that super duper ultimate powerfull air cannon from the sears catalogue because the elctric bill is late and you didnt mow the yard saturday like you were spose to lol. But the thing we have ALL retained is that kid on christmas feeling of getting that new airgun and opening the box and gong oooooh ahhhhh and then grabbing that tin of pellets and heading into the back yard to feed the new baby. That feeling is the same and we all just thrive on it. Hence why we spend countless hours here on the forums making new friends and educating ourselves in the ways of airguns. All I can say is I am so happy I bought that Beeman at walmart and have started on this journey. Sorry for hijacking the thread I aj a rambling fool at times........

..or in my case, the 7th inning stretch,  is that we usually are able to afford some of the "toys" we craved as kids AND replacements  of those first airguns.  Of the two, a lazy day spent plinking with an old Benjamin 312 (or whatever your first real airgun was) is basically a mental enema..flushes all the day-to-day crap out of your thought-system and lets you be a kid again.

I think Jeff pointed out how a day hunting or plinking can take all the weeks tensions away. It is a fantastic way of unwinding after a day of work or even a hard week down at the mill...:) Aint it Great?...:)
