And small game season opens here in Georgia. August 15th. I don't know about laws in other states but here unless you own your own land , you can't even hunt non-game pest species like coyote , armadillos and possums. All public lands are closed except when a game species season is open and with the guns and calibers  legal to hunt that species. And thanks to someone in our state government about 3 or 4 years ago it became legal to hunt small game with airguns. So in a sense , several vermin become legal to take in a little over four weeks. This will be my first full season hunting with airguns and I look forward to trying out different pellets and airguns .BTW our season closes February 28th , so I'll have plenty of time to try out several. hehehe  kirby

Sounds like you're gonna have a nice looong season to enjoy. Looking forward to your hunting stories and pics in the "Hunting Gate".  :)

Last year was my first year of air gun small game hunting.  I had such a blast that I put my bowhunting, which is my other passion, on the back burner and did practically nothing but the air gun small game hunting.  I didn't even use any of my shotguns during the small game season, not even once, used the airguns exclusively,,,, and believe it or not I wound up putting more game in my freezer than in any previous small game season  :)

Hunting with the air guns is just so challenging and so much fun, I just can't get enough of it.

Hmmmm I think I would take 4 weeks annual leave if I had it or at least start saving them up for the next season any ways good luck bud hope you have a good season and a blast of a time.

Thanks Sean; I hope to get somebody to join me during this years small game season and give it a try at night hunting for possums with the airguns. I got the inspiration from you guys down under. I look forward to giving it a  try . Oh yea, we have a bunch of armadillos too, that will be legal. kirby
