What's the transfer port size on the .22 Gamo...

...Shadow/220/440/890 series? Same as the .177?

They are the same, if I rember they are  3 MM or aprox 120 thousands.

Here's a pic of both a .22 and a .177 with the barrels cocked.

Would the gun work better if the port and barrel were the same size?

NO   I tried that, I opened up the transfer port on a .22 CFX to .130 and it lost velocity.

AfterI bushed the port back to .120 it regained it's velocity.

On my .22 cal B-19, I opened it up to about .2 and the gun gained about 30fps back-to-back. After the mod, it would shoot Gamo Match 14.3's at around 710fps. Before, it would average about 680.
