PROBLEMS SENDING PRIVATE MESSAGES
« on: July 12, 2006, 12:10:40 PM »
If you are having problems sending private messages, try deleting your messages, sent emails etc. in your private message Inbox. There is a limit to how many total messages and emails you can store.

Gene,
It looks like it could be more than that. I have no emails stored or recieved messages but I have had a message waiting to be delivered in my outbox for six days now. It may be dependant on the recipient logging in?

I was wondering the same thing.  I've had a message in my outbox for quite awhile now, maybe 2-3 weeks?  Never got a reply on that one either, go figure;)

Our forum mail and message system does not work like our client mail. Any message or email sent from the forum will stay in your outbox sent, and inbox till you delete them. When you email from your computer ciient mail system the sent email goes to your outbox till the system sends it and then it is gone.

Since the days of the '286 based PC's I have become increasingly out of touch until I now can consider myself compu-stupid.:o  I'm not really sure what you said in the above post, but I don't have any messages stuck in the 'outbox' so I'll go with that & not worry about it until it happens again. 8)
Thanks,
Mike

since I originaly asked you on the posting of privite emails, you soulition of deleting all emails may not have been the problem, at least with mine.  I had only had a couple in the outbox, and they were delivered.
It would seem that both the sender and reciepient BOTH have to be on line at the same time to view it.  When I originally emailed you on the problem both you and I were here to recieve them.  Now if there are alot of emails nested in you account, that may be a problem of not getting any more, but if its cleared out, and you dont get one, than you have to be logged in the same time as the other person.
Dose this sound like a reasonable conclusion .

Its not that complicated. :) When you send a private message it goes to the repients message box and you are alerted in Red after you log in. Does not matter if the recipient is online or not. He or she will still recieve the message..

If there is a problem sending and recieving messages, I have not been able to track it down through my log files. Keep me posted though because if you and others are not getting messages then that is bad news..  I will have to go to War with this program...:)
