New Hunting Land
« on: July 25, 2007, 04:02:13 PM »
I had a GREAT day at work today !!!  The electric company in my county, which owns large tracts of land near my home, has been having a problem with trespassers and my department has been  coordinating efforts with their security personnel to arrest and prosecute the trespassers.  Anyway,,,, tonight the head of the security division came in to sign a whole bunch of arrest paperwork for recent trespassers we grabbed and he and I got to talking  and somehow the topic of hunting came up.

Long story short,,,,,,,,, he gave me written permission to hunt on a  1,400 acre piece of land near my home.  I'm familiar with the property, having patrolled it many times while working, and it's deer and small game heaven  :)

I couldn't believe my luck  :)   During our conversation he told me how much he liked venison so I told him I'd make sure to give him a portion of the whatever deer I manage to harvest off the land.  He was thrilled,,, but not as thrilled as I was  !!

The deer hunting will be great, but I'm really looking forward to some airgun small game hunting in there  :)

Jeff

You hit the jackpot!  Congratulations.  If I lived closer, I would offer to help you out with your windfall, lol.  Can't wait to see some pictures, the deer included, (my favorite game animal).

Man your lucky. Ive offten thought about leaving the city but as a single fulltime dad kind of hard to pick up and go. Even as much as I enjoy my airguns my first draw is the saltwater fishing. Living 8 miles from the gulf is nice and my roots are here don't know if I would make it away from here. Enjoy your new untapped resorce and remember we look forward to the stories and pics.
