Gamo Shadow question
« on: July 26, 2007, 06:13:10 PM »
Can you remove the rubber butt plate on the shadow, and re-install it on a wood stock?

Yes Randy, it can be removed and you can put it on any of the other Hunter series air rifles. I have mixed matched the S1K and 440 butt plates in the past.

Sweet. I am considering the Shadow, but I'd probably upgrade the stock to wood some time along the line.

Anyone happen to have a spare  Shadow stock they'd be willing to part with? Or just the rubber ventilated butt plate? It would be a nice addition to my Hunter 220:)

You can buy a 440 stock with butt plate from Gamo for $34.00.... The 440 wood is much nicer than the 220..:)

It is. Is the 440 stock longer than the 220's without the butt plate? I know the rubber pad adds length, but  is the wood the same length?

Good question.. I never had a 220 before when I had my 440 but I do not know Randy. I do not think so but sometimes thinking can get me in allot of trouble.. hehe

I could post a measurement of my 220, and some one else of their 440? Where would I measure from? the wrist?

Measure from fron of stock to butt at the farthest point and don't include the butt plate. The 440 and the 220 should be a perfect swap because the inleting is exactly the same. Only one thing may be different and that is the roller for the cocking lever which sits inside the stock. But If you need one I can make it for you. Only difference will mayb overall length between the 220 and the 440.
