Are you guys still having a problem
« on: August 01, 2007, 11:50:35 AM »
with getting a ton of e-mail notifications. I know that several guys were complaining about it a few days ago and I had the same problem out of the clear blue sky. I've gotten dozens of them and eight in the last hour or so. This is the message I get.

You asked us to let you know when this thread was updated rags has just posted a new message in your thread To view this message, follow the link below

http://www.gatewaytoairguns.com/airguns/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=4022#M27708

To stop receiving these e-mail, unsubscribe at your control panel

First, it wasn't even my thread and I didn't post to it. When I go to the control panel and unsubscribe to thread, it says that I'm not subscribed to any thing.Beats me!!! And this happened all at ounce and started several days ago.

Hey, Jeff and Bob and who ever else is having the problem. The last time I went into my control panel and clicked on unsubscribe ; I had  to check delete  on the left on each one of the posts and it worked for now . I stopped getting the emails . kirby

and in fact, I just got yours too. That makes about 12 in the last hour. I usually get anywhere from 35-50 legitimate e-mails a day on a regular basis plus orders as well as some spam and usually spend about 2-3 hours, sometimes more a day just answering mail.  I sure don't need an additional load...lol... 8)

not many. When I go there it says that I'm not subscribed to any threads  usually. And when there is one, I check mark it. But... you shouldn't have to even do that. I have never had to do it since we brought up the forum on line over a year ago. This has just been happening in the last several days, at least to me.

I'm trying something else. In the control panel, there is a selection for "Receive E-mail notifications by default?" it is defaulted to "Use BBS settings" I changed it to "no". Gonna see if that works.

Mine started on their own somehow  yesterday , and  I don't know if I did anything else besides what I posted before, but they've all stopped for  now. kirby

Well, I didn't get an E-mail notification on this one. See my previous post and give it a try.

This seems to work. I checked in control panel and it did not auto-subcribe me to this thread.
