I have a new in box Gamo 890 .177 with scope.  The piece of plastic that is around the trigger hasn't even been cut and removed yet.  I would like to trade it for a new .22 cal CFX in same condition.

Welcome Jeff,,,,

I have an 890 .177 and it's a nice lookin rifle and a great shooter.  I don't know if you'll find someone to trade a new CFX .22 but I'll bet you will find people interested in that 890.

Again, welcome to the forum.

I would have to agree with Jeff more so because the CFX .22 is a relatively new and long awaited gun. I would list it for what you think is a fair price. Remember even though is new in the box it is still a used gun. Try listing it here and some of the other classifieds.

Hey, Jeffery, which scope does it have?  Thanks, and welcome aboard.

It came with a BSA 3-12X50 which is still in the box as well.  I would have preffered to have had a .22 cal CFX but had given up on the idea of them ever coming to the USA.  As soon as I bought my .177 CFX, they come out with a .22 cal CFX.  I do like my .177 CFX especially after Charlie done his turbo job on it.  If I can't sell my 890 I will probably just buy the .22 CFX anyway.

I cant find the .22 CFX anywhere except at Pyramid.    Funny in that they only have the .22 as a combo with a 4x32 scope for $219   The non combo only shows .177        Its tempting to offer to buy that combo and trade for the 890 since it has a nice sized scope with it.    I am just wondering if Gamos decision to bring this CFX back in .22  may be a sign of whats to come.   Whats to keep them from maybe bringing a break barrell or tw  back.  in .22     Its not like they stopped making the things.

What makes it tough...

...is the fact that NEW 440's (with factory lifetime warranty) can be had for $120. Or a refurb 440 with a scope for $125.

The 440 is the same gun as the 890, except that it has no muzzle brake and it does have open sights.

The 440 rifle and  scope combo is around $125.00 but I don't bellieve it comes with as good a scope.  In fact right now Pyramid has that rifle (890) and scope (3-12X50) combo at $274.00 and they offer the scope alone for $94.00.

The point Vince was trying to make is the 440 and 890 are the same gun so until the 440 is gone it would be hard to sell the 890 unless someone is looking for that gun. I say take the scope and mount off and try to sell just the gun see what happens. The 890 is 189.00 without a scope. List it for 175 shipped and see if you get any bites. You may have to sit on it a couple days. Its going to be hard to compete with Pyramyd Air to sell it. I have licked my far share of wounds with money I lost selling guns. I bought a used B-40 for 190.00 decided I wanted something else being that I was not going to shoot FT and I sold it for 175.00 shipped. I have found that guns seem to sell a little better without a scope. Scopes are a personal thing. Take some pictures list it for sale and note scope not included. JMHO

Thanks for the input.  I really didn't know what to offer it at.  I want that .22 CFX pretty bad so I think I will offer the 890 without the scope at $165.00 shipped and see what happens.

That's a start. Now I would relist it in a new ad here in the classifieds. Put the gun type in subject line.
