I ordered two Golden Antlers from
« on: August 06, 2007, 05:48:36 AM »
Planet Optics Friday and they are here already. Those guys are pretty efficient. I stuck them on top of a couple of QB's but haven't set them up yet. They do look good but as Jeff suggested, I'm not real crazy about the exposed adjustment knobs. My guns don't get knocked around much so it shouldn't really matter.

Let us know how you like them. I was thinking about ordering a couple for my QB's or my B-3's. I can almost get 2 for the price of one leapers with the TT.

I have to say,,, the Golden Antlers that I have work extremely well and I really like them.  As for the exposed adjustment knobs,,, after sighting in I always set the dials to "0",,, so when I take em out of the gun safe I give em a quick look and can tell instantly if something is wrong.  You also have to periodically check the tiny allen screws (3 of em) inside the adjustment cap,,, they have a tendency to loosen up if you shoot a lot.  I like the 4x32 scopes I put on my 2 QB's, but when I get the money I may order 2 more Golden Antlers and replace them as I really like the ability that a variable power scope offers when it comes to sighting in on smaller targets.

Jeff Thanks for the input. Glad you chimmed in about the B-3's I didn't think the 4x would be enough for longer or smaller targets. Good first hand knowledge.

I got my Dad to buy a golden antler 3-9X32. I mounted it with a Accushot medium mount. I like it, works real well.

One slight problem though. I can see my front sight, and the tip of my barrel on 3-4X magnification. Any idea how to fix that? Could the scope have some internal problem?

No problem with the scope. Easy fix, remove your front sight, LOL.  :)

Actually Randy, it's not all that uncommon to be able to see the front sight post when a scope is mounted, probably more so if it is a "Truglow" type sight. You just have to decide if it bothers you, or if you prefer leaving the front sight on.

Ah, Good. I think I will keep the front sight, I don't use the lower magnifications much anyway.

Hmmmm.. That is weird about seeing the front sites through the scope.. I have about 20 or so air rifles with scopes mounted on them and there is not one of them that I see the front site through the scope.. Am I really going blind? :) What is with that Stephanie. I do not understand how one can see the front site using a medium mount. Maybe a low mount with a high front sight.... Scratches head in wonder..:)

Oh Gene, all your toys have bling on them, not sights. Yes, your eyes are a bunch older than Randy's   :)

I have the same problem with my Webley patriot but only at low power as Randy is having the same problem. I just removed the front blade. Fixed that problem.
