Looks really sweet with that nice wood stock Barry..:) Looks like a keeper to me..:) Good accuracy as well and I see that you have a CDT trigger instead of an insert..:)

Could you provide details on the guns?  The second set of pics seems to be an all black Viper.  Did you put a new stock on that gun?

Nice group, by the way.  Mine shoots well, but I'm having difficulty with the amount of recoil for groups of more than five or six.  I (underline the I) just can't seem to keep them together.  It's not tuned and not even broken in.  I have less than 500 shots through it, but I'll get there.

Great lookin Rife Barry,

I know youmadethe correct choice with Bob's GRT-III Trigger. And I would recommend to anyone out there, to get the best trigger made !

The GRT-III, is the BEST ! AND IT'S GREAT ! The GRT-III IS the BEST MONEY I HAVE EVER SPENT ON ANY Firearm/ Air Arm Modification ! And I have waisted money on products that cost oh so much more and didn't perform !

Anyway, Very Nice Job Barry, im Jealous !

how loud is your viper, i was thinking of getting one but my neighbors might not like the noise.  i wonder if the new whisper is quieter than the viper?

From what I`ve read the whisper is prob. quieter,but...the viper isn`t "loud" compared to any other 900 fps spring gun...imo.And yeah Ed,the lights good after dark it`s a surefire it`ll light up a 40 yard target!I love it when the other half goes to bed!Ought oh....was I just thinkin that???

does your viper have a metal barrel or is it a plastic jacket over metal barrel,   i guess the whisper has a lot of plastic on it(barrel jacket)  i would think that is why the whisper is so light.   i would prefer the more steel the better :)

I agree with you about the plastic. I really do not like it myself, but after testing the new Gamo Whisper and visably looking the barrel over and the final target placement I have a bit more respect than before. It seems the rifling in the new barrelsare much more prodomanent and uniform. I was impressed with the accuracy of the Gamo Whisper with the shrouded steel barrel. And that is one of the reasons's I bought one for myself...:)

I have not heard about the plastic cracking but I will keep an eye out for it. I have over a 1000 rounds through it now and will be pulling it down for inspection, deburr, lube tune, seal, spring guide and GRT trigger. Will look very closely around the breech and barrel area. I know I will pump another few thousand rounds through her in a month or so and that will be a great test to see if she developes any cracks. Gamo is good with there warranty so if it does happen, I will just be without her for a couple of weeks..;)
