Little wire on the trigger adj on Whisper
« on: August 11, 2007, 03:06:44 AM »

Ok I thought I would back out the trigger a little. There is a little wire obstructing the screw. Was this on yours??

BTW Scope creep. Those are Torx on the mount right? Is the screw on the rail supposed to be backed out as a stop???

The wire obstructing the trigger adjustement screw is the end of the trigger return spring. It is normal that it is in that postion. Just push it to the side a bit and adjust the screw. Or just don't bother and wait for that GRT you ordered. That spring will come out and not be used when the GRT trigger is installed.

The rear mount screw on the rail is not designed as a stop. The Gamo rail has a hole for a stop pin in the mount and this is what should be used to stop scope mount creep.

The stop pin should be installed in one of the scope mounts. That is the one you will use as the rear mount. It should be a threaded steel pin in the center of the mount. You install the mount loosely, position the mount approx. over the stop pin hole in the rail and then use the small, supplied allen wrench to screw the pin down into the hole, pushing the mount back so the pin butts up against the back of the hole, then tighten the mount up on the rail.

If you did not get mounts with a stop pin, I would exchange them for a set that has it. The Gamo 1000fps springers all recoil enough that they definitely need to use a stop pin.

Thanks that is sort of what I thought. It is a one piece mount which I thought with the three set screws would hold better.
