LOL Chucky.. That bug almost reminds me of the Rice Beatles in South East Asia.. When it monsooned they would fall outa the sky. I had one hit me once while I was on a work stand and it almost knocked me out...:) and almost off the stand.. Hit me on my forehead and dang did it hurt..:)

If it what I think it is it's called a Cicadidae. The ones we have here make a high pitch squeal. Way to go Chucky I hate those things I see them rarely but hear them all the time.

Hey Ed those bugs are a delicacy in Asia.. They just grab em and brake open the shell and eat the meat while it is still warm...:)

Good Shootin Chuck !

I really hate those things, they sound like hi-tension lines on a humid day.

Nice!  Send them to LongIslandhunter.  He 's always looking for critters to shoot and eat  :-)
He 'll probably need a few more to make a stew though, heheh

Yeah those things are a nuissance.  They say that they come out of the ground like every 7-10yrs in the millions and destroy crops and make so much noise they drive you crazy.  If I had them, I 'd shoot them too.
