Had an afternoon chiropractor appt. but threw (gently) the Flying Dragon .177 QB78-D in the back of the truck and planned on stopping by the duck farm on the way home and whacking some starlings. Pulled into the farm, waved at the owners and pulled into my usual parking spot. I got out of the truck, suited up, loaded the QB and started walking towards one of the pens where I saw a huge flock of pigeons land on top of one of the feeders.
After a five minute slow walk I was just getting into position to begin stalking closer for a shot and all of a sudden I felt a raindrop hit me right between the eyes. A second after that the sky lit up with an awesome display of lightening, followed by an amazing clap of thunder. Made it back to the truck just in time to keep my beloved QB dry and safe.
I was all bummed out,,, I really wanted to get in a couple hours of shooting, so I went home and did the next best thing................Fried up 2 rabbits I had defrosted for dinner and me and the oldest daughter had an airgun supplied feast :)
Gonna try and get back to the farm tomorrow but the weather guy is talking about bad storms for tomorrow so I may be disappointed again. Oh well, guess I better defrost a couple of squirrels just in case. :)
