CFX front sight and cocking lever question
« on: August 22, 2007, 12:40:57 PM »
Pyramyd Air added user reviews of the products they carry. Someone left the following comment:

"Things I would have changed:I have removed the rear optic sights because I have installed a scope. Can't remove the front sight because it also acts as a retainer for the (under) cocking lever."

Does this persons comment about the front sight being a retainer for cocking lever have any credibility?

I pulled my front sight as it was of no use with the Accushot 1 piece medium scope mount. I don't see how the sight assembly can have anything to do with the cocking lever as the sight is on top and the barrel is between it and the cocking lever.

They probably mean the brake. The actual fibre optic site just pops off. I've lost mine in the field hunting.

Yep, they mean that plastic brake. It also blocks some of the view with a scope. You can make a new smaller one to hold that lever if you want to fix it properly.
If some is good and more is better - then too much is just right.
