Looks like we may have had a visitor last night......
« on: August 24, 2007, 02:12:34 PM »
I was roaming around last night and it appears one of CDT's biggest haters was snooping around here last night. Only hung out for about 30 mins. Didn't post anything. I guess he was looking for people to ban from their club house. Maybe just getting worried that their clubhouse isn't the only gig in town. Could have come here to steal ideas. Just thought it was funny. :D

Unlike some places we all know about, the rules here are minimal, don't generally need enforcing, and disagreeing with Bob or Gene isn't grounds for being banned.  In fact, I know of only one person that's been banned, and he had plenty of warning, and was banned for good cause.  Bottom line is, the main requirement for membership in the GTA is respect and consideration for the fellow members.  Doesn't mean you have to agree with anyone, or kiss a$$, just treat everyone with a little common courtesy and we all seem to get along just fine :-).  ANYONE willing to live by that is welcome here, even those not willing to offer the same consideration elsewhere.  At least, that's how I see it.  Later.

Hopefully just curiousity...but I don't know...I guess if I was mean to everybody like they are over there, then I would be interested in what folks were sayin about me so I could get better at bein meaner? Or even worse to gloat about any complaints that may surface here, about stuff going on over there. Even superior, incredibly intelligent guys gotta check up on themselves once in a while. :-) Unfortunately, as I write, I'm givin those guys stuff to gloat over so I won't say no more, other than this IS a great place to be, and if I was to never go over there again I wouldn't be missin a microscopic thing.

You maybe right on the Mark with the thought on gathering material to gloat. I think that is sad to live your life that way. How can you have a love for this sport and do the harm to it that he does. I understand it's a small percentage of damage but it seems any of our true sportsman all know his name and what a D&%&%&S he is. OK I'm done inshrining him. Maybe I'm the dumb***.  :p

LOL Dave I have basically done all the reading I want to do on this whole subject and I just leave the dead horse alone. My mom use to tell me when I was a little kid not to argue with stupidity, you will never win. I like places where people are there for the group and not there for themselves. The GTA is a great place to be and as a member you are accepted no matter what your opinions on the different airgun issues are. So having an open minded place to share your opinions is a great thing.

Wish all this would just end. There are some great posts on the Yellow Page and lots of the folks there seem like real nice sportmen. I don't need any details, I just know that the day will come when they will want us to register air guns, restrict us to buying one a year, only let us have three guns to begin with and require us to have the guns "tested and adjusted if needed" to 12FPE if we do not stand together. I hardly shoot my powder burners anymore, just too much hassle and that is just what they wanted. One reason I love to air gun is that it takes me back 50 years to when I walked out the front door and hunted in the fields around our house before school. Most of the pickups in the student parking lot had a gun in the window and I never dreamed I would have the loss of freedoms that have occured in just a short time. Don't mean to get on a soap box, but I do think we need to be open to resovling our differences, even if we do not hang out much afterwards. I am grateful for being the 25th person to  sign onto the GTA but I feel the 1000 member is just as valuable as those of us who were here at the start. Besides, if we get to the UK, we have a friend to shoot with when we arrive.
