Gamo CFX
« on: September 07, 2007, 02:30:44 PM »
Believe it or not, Gander Mountain screwed up.  They had four Gamo CFX combos marked at $139.99.  This included the 4X32 scope and 50 rounds of PBA ammo.  Well, guess what.  I bought all four.  Obviously, they were mismarked.  I felt this was an opportunity to spread the air gun religion.  I passed this savings on to a few fellows at work hoping to spread the passion.  Of course, I sold them the next day.  Won't be long befor I have an airgun following in central Indiana.  Just needed the right deal to get these guys off their duff.

I forgot, Dick's sporting goods had the Gamo 640 carbine on sale at $29.95.  Of course, I bought one of these.

And where?

Vince, I'll bet it's at this particular Gander Mtn ( http://www.gandermountain.com/storelocator/storedetail.asp_Q_store_id_E_81 ).

As to when, ya got me! But if you can find one of their stores near you ( http://www.gandermountain.com/storelocator/ ), it would be pretty cool to find the same deals. Nearest one to me is in Knoxville TN.

The When is about a week ago.  I bought the last four CFX's they had.  The where is the Castleton location in Indy.  I checked the Greenwood store and they had four, but with the correct price of $229.00.  I called the GM where I got the cheap ones a few says later and they said they were out.  I asked how much they were and the guy wasn't sure because they were sold as something else.  He said there was going to be a price change.  By the way when I was checking out with my cart full of Gamos, the guy asked if I was involved in the cub scouts.  I got a laugh out of that and told him no, but I work with a bunch of boy scouts.

Soon, I hope.  I didn't even get a chance to shoot this weekend.  Will have to remedy that pretty soon.  How's the squirrel hunting going?

Well, Gander Mountain came back to their senses.  Their Gamo CFX's are now priced at $249.99 (without scope).  Boy, did they screw up.  My boys that  I sold the bargains to love their new air rifles.  I said I would convert them.  It just took a bargain to get their attention.
