Thoughts on Gamo Recon?
« on: September 19, 2007, 04:58:02 AM »
Been thinking about getting one of these little things..

Mainly for quiet short range plinking in the backyard...

Price seems decent and the few reviews I've read seem fine...

Anyone have one of these?

Rick

I saw that earlier...

Thing is, he superglued the scope mount and I can get a new one for a few bucks more than what he's asking....

Looks like a rehash of the Cadet Delta...

...which at least has the advantage of open sights. I also suspect that you'd find the pull length a little short, if the Delta is any indication.

ooooppps my fault didn't remember that. I have never shot one if you looking for a quiet backyard gun look at th HW30. Peak has one she could give you the scoop on it. They run around 215-230. If thats to much the Crosman Quest isn't a bad gun for under a hundred dollars.

The HW30 is a little on the high side and the Quest doesn't come with a scope for under $100 like the Recon (I'm pretty sure the Quest would be much louder as well, albeit more powerful)

The Recon with scope is only $79 bucks and should fit nicely in the case along with my Whisper  8)

The only reason there is super glue is because it doesn't have a scope stop and never came with one. Believe me, it need the super glue, but it can be easily removed. I did it before on a Crosman Quest. The glue just comes if you are real careful with a razor or knife. He is a link to the post I made:  http://www.gatewaytoairguns.com/airguns/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=4409&mid=30863#M30863 Just copy and paste it. It also has a lower price, with a better scope than what it comes with stock.

QB-79 (.177), Walther Falcon Hunter (.22), Crosman Quest (.177)

Jesse, do you have any close up pix of the glue?

Why not just use a regular scope stop?

OK, back to the top....

Quick question on the scope...

Anyone know if my 3-9x40mm Gamo/BSA scope will fit using the mounts supplied with the stock fixed 4x20mm scope?

They both have a 1" tube, but I have a feeling the objective will have clearance issues  :o
