Dragon Slayer arrived

But I'm having problems with filling it using a new Logun hand pump.  The manometer on the rifle reads 18 on a scale of 0 to 25. All attempts to pump it up to full charge went nowhere....zero pressure shows on the pump gauge.

Checked all connections on the hose. Any connection that had an o-ring was reassembled snug. Non-o-ring connections were teflon taped. The o-rings on the probe were lightly greased with silicone grease.

I insert the probe and start pumping. The pump gauge rapidly rises to about 1000 psi but will not go higher. The minute I stop pumping, the pump gauge immediately bleeds down to several hundred pounds. Rifle gauge remains unchanged.

It appears that the fill tube is rotated about 10 to 15 degrees off axis. When the dust cover opens fully, it appears the probe has interference from the muzzle protector. So ....right now I can insert the probe as long as the fill swivel (under the dust cap) on top of the manometer is not fully snug. I can't fully snug the fill swivel with the probe inserted.....

Is there a way to rotate the air tube or is this a gunsmith operation?

I got rid of the probe setup and replaced the piece that the probe fits into with a foster quickconnect fitting.

I'll have to see if I can borrow a camera.  Where did you buy the foster quick connects?

Ok.....I uploaded 2 photos into the DCox photo album.  All the remaining air leaked out overnight.  I cocked it and tried again to fill it but no luck.

So, anyway ~ sounds likea valve has dust on the seat.

Use co2 or high pressure air, put about1000 psi into the reservoir and take a couple of 'cottonball' shots. Thatmight shakeany trash loose.

By 'cottonball' I mean like a cleaning pellet, onlya 'roll your own' situation withcotton patch, gauze, etc. fitted tight enough in the breech to give a bit of back pressure. Add alittle simple green to help clean the bore and offer a bit more resistance if you want to.

You should consider making a video of a full teardown and maintenance procedures on this bad boy.  I'd pay $20.00 for a copy -- no joke......

People get a paper cut or spill hot coffee and sue. That they sue is of no consequence, but that they win the case is. I spent many years learningdangers of metal work and have plenty of scars to prove it.

Engineering and materialsare a bit less'quality controlled' in asia, so any typeof partsmodificationsare probably'subject to litigation' in the current 'call a lawyer' environment.
