Shadow harvest with Viper
« on: September 25, 2007, 07:37:29 AM »
Well after mounting the Golden Antler on her yesterday and sighting it in at forty yard's I decided to see what she can do. I grabbed a tin of Tomahawk's and headed for my hunting ground's. Locked and loaded I slipt into the grove of tree's  and it didn't take long, I spotted several playing tag in the tree's so I made like a bush and planted myself  hehe. I watched em for about twenty minute's and waited for them to pause, one moved out of sight but the other one stopped and sat up to take a break. That's all I needed, took a gess at the yardage, dialed the scope in and put the crosshair's on the side of his head. At that moment he decides to move, just crawling slowly along the limb so I lead him a hair and send the Tomahawk to do it's deed. The pellet make's a solid sound on impact and I watch him dangle from his back leg for a moment then drop. I get to my feet and step out my yard's, thirty four and a tail lol. The Tomahawk struck him behind the ear in the neck, gotta lead em alittle more next time. };) Ed

I wanted to do the same with mine Ed. I can't find the end cap to change it over to a hunter stock. I like the way it looks in wood just didn't want to put out the extra cabbage.

Jason, I'm thinking that I might machine one out of aluminum and shoot it black. The cap would have more of a angle , flow with the action. Ed

Thats the way the end cap for the viper comes with the snythetic stock. The only wood stock GAMO offers is for the 440 which uses the flat end cap. The stock on yours looks like it came from an Elite or Pro. Don't remember the Pro being checkered. : ).
