I feel as OUTRAGED as any RED BLOODED AMERICAN, but I would have contacted the proper authorities, had them remove the flag and arrest the owner of the shop.

I would not not put myself in jeopardy, when he was in clear violation of the law.

If he was attempting to deface OUR FLAG, I would have taken him out, andProtected andDefended OUR FLAG !!!!!

Think twice, act ounce !! For your own sake..

I shed some blood myself to keep the US flag on top, and would of done the same as that Vet did. This kind of stuff is a total slap in an American's face. Not many people these days would not of even paid attentions or noticed the injustice of it all.

My American Bloods, two cents worth..:)

Not wanting to sound like a racist, but some go way too far.

I don't care that some are willing to do jobs I won't for less than I would, There still must be some allegiance to a country that has taken you in, provided you with work and offers protections you wouldn't have elsewhere.

Mr. Broussard is a hero for his service and for his gallantry post-service. If anyone gets their @$$ kicked, it should be the people who allowed this to go on for as long as it did.

I second his notion that they can try to take this nation from us if they want. My question is, what are they going to do with it once they've got it? Are they going to rape it until there is nothing left and corrupt everything they can, until they are sitting in a much larger armpit of the world like the one they are running away from.

If Mexico is so gosh darn great and if they're so gosh darn proud of it, then why are so many fleeing here?

Everyone is welcome in my house. Everyone who enters my house is expected to observe my customs and rules. If you don't observe my customs and rules...

Same goes for my country. LOVE IT OR LEAVE IT!

Don't even get me started on the medical care I've SEEN  non-citizens recieve at no cost to them.

Dookie

P.S. I'm not even Republican, but this just pi$$e$ me off.

There is a place where it's permissible for you to fly the Mexican flag as the highest banner on the pole--

IN MEXICO!

This has nothing to do with race or racism or any other -ism! Anyone who doesn't care enough to learn about the rules for flying the US flag needs to be somewhere else.

Sorry for the ouburst, but this is a bit of a smack in the face.

A "bit" of a smack in the face?

I'm not sure it's not an act of treason.

I still can't believe it was allowed to continue long enough for somebody to hear about it on tv before something was done.

I swear if legal action is taken against Mr. Brousard...

Sorry,
Dookie

I have to agree with Big Bill on this one.  As outrageous (and ignorant) as it was, I would have contacted the authorities.  Two wrongs don't make a right.

After he made the decision to remove the American flag, he could have treated it with more respect than wadding it up and tucking it under his arm.  He
could have asked the TV crew to hold it while he folded it properly.

Brandishing his issue (or surplus store) knife was another ignorant display.

Frankly, Mr. Brousard's actions *_*_*_*_*_*ed me off almost as much as the obviously ignorant and disrespectful actions of the business owner.  As I said at the top of my missive; two wrongs don't make a right.

My better half is hispanic.  She was born/raised here.  She used to work for a local medical "free" clinic as an interpreter, and Dr./Nurse assistant.  She quit because of the expectation to falsify medical/government records for illegals.  Many illegals were registered under different names in more than one area, to maximize free services and handouts.  It got so bad she finally asked one illegal which name he/she was using for this visit.

She voiced her complaint(s) to her supervisor, and was promptly admonished for not wanting to help "her people".  She replied they weren't "her people" and she was getting damned tired of the fraud, and having to pay for it with HER taxes (as all of us have to).

I'm proud of her.  The parasites draining me and every other American citizen of millions, if not billions of dollars must end.  The qualification that "they do what Americans won't" is no excuse for criminal behavior, and make no mistake, illegals are criminals, even the best intentioned ones, who never seek citizenship.  Businesses who hire illegals should be castrated.  They are more culpable than the illegals they employ.  Pathetic.

We finally wised-up with the welfare deadbeats, and I hope it isn't too late to wise-up with illegals.  The problem is so widespread, (genie out of the bottle) that it will probably take mass deportation to even make a dent in the fraud.

The free lunch and handouts *_*_*_*_*_* me off even more so than it does other Americans, because I've heard about it from a loved one.  I am ENRAGED that medical/government fraud is tolerated, and encouraged by our system, and its employees.  ENRAGED!

I'll add my two cents. Every citizen of this country either came here from somewhere else, or his or her forebears did. That includes the "Native American" population (I have a smattering of Cherokee in my heritage), the "Native Americans" originally imigrated to this continent from north eastern Asia. All the rest of us came from somwhere else on the globe, sooner , later, our forebears came here with the hopes of establishing a new life and escaping or leaving some form of oppresion, religious, political, cultural, economic, etc.

The one thing that all our forebears had in common was the desire to found or participate in a country of their own. One that they established a democratic form of govenment and judicial process for. My German, Scottish and English forbears did not come to this country to live as Germans, Scotts, Englishmen, but as Americans.

Honoring one's forebears, one's cultural heritage is a wonderful and respected tradition in the US. The diversity of our population is what has made this country the success that it has been. But, honoring one's heritage and attempting to change a nation's culture to fit your cultural heritage are two different things. I have lived in several other countries in my life. While I was there, I respected and lived within their cultural expectations and norms. I did not try to convert the country I was living in to another version of the United States.

I am positively incensed by the expectations of people that immigrate here and expect alll the other citizens of this country to accomodate them by providing interpreters, free benefits payed for with our taxes, etc. I believe this is partially our fault. We have condesended to people that don't want to learn English (no it's not the "offical" language, but it is the one that is overwhelmingly recognized as the common langauge of our country), we hire interepreters in business for them, we provide special educational programs for their children, we post multi language signage everywhere.

I have no issue whatsoever with a person that immigrates here legally and has a desire to contribute to our society. Bottom line, if you want to live, work, raise your family in the US, fine. Come here legally, earn US citizenship, pay taxes, contribute to our society. However, first and foremost you are an American, not a Mexican, not Vietnamese, not Chinese, not Zimbabwean, an AMERCIAN. If this is not fair, doesn't meet your expectations, that's cool too..............LEAVE!
