1 Less Starling
« on: October 17, 2007, 02:20:42 AM »
Yesterday afternoon looked out into the yard and saw a mess of starlings pecking away at the lawn.  Down to the basement, grabbed the camo B-3 and a couple of GAMO Magnum pellets.  Snuck out the basement door, crept over to the edge of the house and peeked around the corner.  They made me instantly and took flight,,, but one of em made the mistake of landing on a branch high up in one of my large oaks.

Distance was 30 yards. Took a breath, squeezed the trigger gently and after the gun fired heard the "POP" as the pointed magnum pellet hit home.  Starling just rolled over and hit the ground with a thud.  I secreted myself into a bushy hiding spot and sat patiently for 30 hoping the birds would return and give me another shot,,, but the only birds that showed up were the usual song birds that have a legal right to be there.  That was it for the day,  but the little B-3 pulled through again with flying colors........

Great shootin Jeff,

Those little birds present quite a difficult target. Anyone that watches these little birds can appreciate your skill with a rifle, and a B-3 to boot !

Thanks Bill,,,,, matter of fact just came inside after nailing another one of the yellow beaks.  Used the camo B-3 again, 30 yards, almost the same branch as the bird was sitting on yesterday.  Gamo magnum pellet did it's work again, bird fell like a rock.   I just finished putting out a bunch of suet cakes in the yard,,,, should bring them in pretty good, although it usually takes em about a day to notice the suet cakes hanging on the trees.   :)

Fine shooting Jeff and one thing that I noticed about all my B3's, they also like the Hunter pellet's and just about any Gamo pellet. I'm still suprized that they haven't caught on to tune quality of the B3 and jacked up the price on em hehe. Ed

I know, everytime I look at the Cummins website I still can't believe they are still $19.00 bucks.  With winter coming I'm actually thinking of ordering 2 more just to have a couple of "project guns" to work on during the long winter.  I love my B-3's, just so much fun to shoot and the accuracy and power you can coax from them is great.  Everytime I nail a critter with a B-3 I really get a sense of satisfaction.   :)
