Do you have 2 mainsprings in your Gamo - an inner and an outer?

I already put her back together, but going by the pix and my clouded memory, I think it does have an inner and outer...

I don't think so...I was thinking there was, but after some thought and then looking at all three pieces, I concluded that it was all one big spring.

I just put the largest part in the airgun, and had the 2nd biggest piece wrapped up in it. I believe that after a few rounds, it moved down to where it wouldn't let the sear catch. It seems to be running half-decent with just the largest part of the mainspring, but it has NO power-one two rounds hardly made it out of the barrel. Now looking for a mainspring for payday, best I can find that carrys Gamo springs are JG, and thats 40 bucks shipped, at least :(

Might be confused like I was-all the pieces managed to get twirled up in each other. Seemed like two different springs at first sight. Good luck with your tune up, hope shes even better than before! (I saw your videos, pretty impressive!)

Yes, I believe you're right.

Again, the Crosman Spring and tophat (used together) is the quickest, easiest, and cheapest fix, and some have reported good durability with the Crosman spring.

So what options do I have now?

Is there another heavy duty spring available or should I just replace the stock trigger and have Gamo warranty it? (which they'll prolly void since I turned a few screws)

It's up to you, but if you decide to have Gamo fulfill their obligation on it, as long as the stock trigger is back in, they will service it as warranted, and taking the barreled action out of the stock does not void the warranty.

Hey Rick

You won't go wrong sending it to CDT. I have about 13 Gamo's and most have been tuned by CDT. Yes you could put a Crosman "chinese spring", in the Whisper but if you like the Whisper allot then CDT is your best bet for getting quality parts made in USA back in her..:)

Best of luck

Well, I have yet to deal with Gamo directly, but their warranty FAQ scares me lol

Quote
Q.: Can I modify my rifle?
A.: No. NEVER modify your rifle. It could be dangerous and would void your warranty. Please refer to the manual, which states: "This warranty does not include damage caused by abuse, unauthorized repair or modification of any kind".

Q.: If I take my rifle apart will it still be under warranty?
A.: No. NEVER take your rifle apart. It could be dangerous and would void your warranty. Please refer to the manual, which states: "This warranty does not include damage caused by abuse, unauthorized repair or modification of any kind".

Q.: What can I do if I get rust in the barrel?
A.: With proper lubrication, rust in the barrel should not occur. Please refer to your local gunsmith for assistance. Also note that our warranty states that damage caused by abuse is not included.

Q.: Can the butt pad be removed from my rifle for better fit without voiding the warranty?
A.: No. The butt plate should not be removed from your rifle, as this would void the warranty for the stock.

It would suck if I sent her out for warranty repairs, waited 4 weeks, then get a call saying they won't honor the warranty cause they found my fingerprints around the spring housing lol

Gene, I'm waiting on Bob to get back to me so I can send her off   :)

The exact thing happened to my new Shadow sport I recently purchased. I had less than 200 pellets through it. I could no longer cock it either, there was pressure but wouldnt catch to fully cock. I was pretty dissapointed being a brand new gun, but thought maybe I got a lemon. But sounds like this could be a common prob. Anyway I got a whisper on the way for an exchange, Hope it doesnt happen again. I love the tactical look of the gamos. Id hate to go to another brand. Anyway thought id share that, good luck.

Welcome to the GTA, Rodney,

Sorry about your problems with the Shadow, I hope you have better success with the Whisper.

This does not seem to be a common problem with Gamo air rifles, but we all receive a lemon at times !

I hope to read your post here, on your NEW WHISPER ! If you do a SEARCH, you will find loads of information on the Shadow and the Whisper.

Again, WELCOME to the GTA, You have found a GREAT PLACE TO BE !!!

Well, she's back from CDT :D

Haven't had a chance to fire her off yet as I have a lounge full of customers at the shop, but  I can't wait to get her home and break her in at the range 8)

I tell'ya, Bob works FAST!!

Before I could even send an email out to see if he got started, he sent ME an email with a tracking number for return shipping  :o

Accoding to the test results, the numbers look very consistent, which is exactly what I wanted  8)

I'll put up a review by tomorrow if weather permits...
