If CdT did his usual magic, it will be a smooth shooter.

I'd really like to hear the results. I plan on getting a whisper with tax return money- then sending it out to charlie.

I'd really like to know how much quieter you think it is.

OK, I've only run about 30 rounds through her, but I can honestly say she feels like a COMPLETELY different gun!!

The cocking is smooth as silk with no twang and even the recoil feels rubbery compared to the harsh snap it once had  :D

Put together a short video:

Can't wait to mount the scope for some long range shooting this weekend  :)

98 snake eater, can you say it sounds quieter after the tune? Judging solely by your videos, I think it does sound a bit quieter, but without handling the unit myself or being there I can't say for sure (since there are so many variables to recording).

Well, the entire cocking action is much smoother with no spring twang or any sound of sliding metal for that matter, so yes, it's quieter in that aspect...

Even the safety has a nice rubbery feel, unlike the usual "clack" (see my pre-tune videos for a comparision)

As for shooting, even though the spring recoil feels more dampened, it actually seems a little louder at the muzzle....

However, I think that has more to do with the oils used during the tune (CDT's spec sheet actually states it will be louder during break-in)

PBA's sound incredibly LOUD!!

To me, they sound even louder now than when the gun was new (I think my neighbor got whiplash when I fired one off today)

I've only put about 150 pellets through her so far, but she feels great :)

The best bit is that she's so much more consistent  8)

Pre-tune, she'd start off with high velocity and settle down after about 50 shots...

Post tune, the velocity stays the same from cold bore to 75+ shots back to back  :D

Hey Rick... I would be very careful using those PBA's. They are very light, just over 5 gr and very hard on your spring and can really shorten the life of it. It doesn't take a whole lot in some guns to cause spring fatigue and spring failure.

Thanx for the heads up, Bob  8)

I'll stick to my favorite pellets from now on (Premier Dome Lites 7.9)

I have no intention of running the PBA's once I get my whisper. they are louder than all the other pellets I have heard, and I have had bad experiences with their quality.

I am going after squirrels anyway. regular premiers should work just fine, and be quieter.

I am looking for the silent of the silent here.

One thing that will kill or shortin the life of a spring in a springer is a lite pellet.. A good weight for a .177 is around 7.3.
