Still rolling with the TAC 1
« on: November 03, 2007, 08:47:39 AM »
Decided to take a nature walk out to the grove before supper, ok I went hunting !. Anyway loaded the TAC 1 with a Predator stashed the tin in my camo  and headed out. I hadn't even reached the grove when I heard several of em barking back and forth so slid down into the grass and worked my way in. I made it to about 15yrd's out from the tree line when I spotted one of em another 10yrd's inside the canapy of tree's. He had perched himself about 20ft up on a limb and was barking up a storm. Can't move now or his attention would be on me so sitting with knee's up I rested the TAC 1 across my forearm, safety off and placed the crosshair's on da sweetspot. The Predator find's it's mark as I watch him freeze for a second and roll off the limb, dropping to the grove floor dead. 32yrds from myself to dinner and I think I'm really starting to like my new gal. Nice shooting.  I am a little jealous of your hunting grounds, as the mountains have been closed off here due to the fires, which means my deer season is over, (insert a crying face here, lol).

Thank's David, that's one of the reason's that I moved back to my hometown from the city, I own my hunting ground's and have access to miles of extra hunting ground's thank's to the farm's and farmer's who just hate varment's. The closest city to me is over 50mi. away and I'm 6mi. out of the little town of Wagner, pop. maby 800 and one slow Pony Express horse.:) Ed

Thank's fellow hunter's and yes this is my little piece of hunting heaven. Jeff so far the Crosman TAC 1 has impressed me out of the box. The Center Point scope hold's great, the lamp throw's a nice burn, and once you get the red dot settled in it hold's point good. She does hit hard , is kinda heavy with the extra's but if you set them up on the scope right it balances out well. I ended up moving the lamp back a hair and dropping the red dot down and to the side of the scope, much better for me. Ed

If it shoots as nice as my .177 extreme, and it certainly appears that it does, then I'm just gonna have to hit the order button on one :)

I wish they sold it as just the rifle and scope combo cause with my lower back problems I know I wouldn't be using the bipod feature very much, if at all.    Maybe I'll wait just a little longer and see if they start selling it that way, but if they don't I'll be ordering one anyway..

Keep posting buddy, I can never get enough of seeing the TAC 1 laying next to her harvest  :)

For sure Jeff, I didn't mount the bipod yet. I was sketching out some idea's to set up the mount back on the stock, no need for extra weight out there. I would have got it without the extra's also but the scope is nice and clear and the lamp setup work's well. Ed
