Spent 3 hours this afternoon in the woods near the duck farm trying for some squirrels. Saw quite a few, but they were way off in the distance and even though I tried stalking within range several times it just never worked out.
Decided to call it a day so I crossed the stream back onto the main duck farm and headed for my truck. Loaded all my gear into the truck and pulled out when I noticed a large flock of pigeons greedily feeding at a grain feeder about 50 yards in front of me. I knew the pigeons would spook if I tried to walk up on them so I figured I'd just drive the truck down and see what happened. Well, amazingly they didn't spook, matter of fact they didn't pay the truck any mind at all and kept feeding. Distance was 25 yards.
Cocked the .22 Goldfinger, stuck the business end out the window of the truck, rested my left hand on the rear view mirror and picked out the fattest bird in the bunch. Pulled the trigger, the predator started on it's journey and a second later a dead pigeon lay on the ground. The rest of the birds took of, but that's ok,,,,, I had my prize....
