CFX and firing with breach open
« on: November 11, 2007, 12:27:32 AM »
I have a CFX and I am wondering what would happen if I cocked it, rotated the breach open, and pulled the trigger.

I assume it would be bad?.?.?.?

Martin, I did that once by mistake:0 and haven't noticed any problems yet. I don't think it would be as bad as a dry fire, but it could blow out the orings in the breech.

Yes, and possibly very bad. It can cause the rotary breech sea o-ringl to blow out as well as as badly damage the spring because of the detonation that can be caused. That's not to say that it will happen but quite possible.
