« on: November 17, 2007, 03:45:55 AM »

There seems to be a bit of new activity and lots of new members wanting information on the Hammerli 850. If anyone has something to share please help the ones who want to know about your experience with shooting, moding and overall impression of this new shooter. Pictures would be great as well. Step up to da plate with your valuable info..:)

I have had a number of enquiries about the 850, just haven't gotten time to get one to work on, there might be some possiblities for improvement but if they are like some of the other German rifles there are alot of little bits and pieces to work on..........

Here of some pics of my 850.  It is not the prettiest, but it is very functional.  and very cheap and quiet  to shoot with the PB tank.   The first pic is of the indexed mag, so I know when it is time to reload.   The second pic is of one of the 3 adapters I used to get
the tank clear of the stock.  I did not want to cut the stock in any way in order to use a PB tank.  The third is of a shutoff adapter that I haver inline.  And the last is of the plumbers special  :emoticon:    I find the accuracy to be within 1/4" at 15 yards, and basically can shoot dimes all day long with the scope.   Only drawback with the PB is the weight forward.

Gene,

What do you want to know?  I love mine.  It is quite accurate and a pleasure to shoot.  I think that is what we are all after.  It is well balanced and the fact you can shoot 8 shots with the magazine makes it a thrill to shoot.  The gun is solid, and quickly became my favorite. I converted mine to a 9 oz paintball tank, but really the 88 gram crossman tank is sufficient.  The paintball mod is just a bonus.

Gene,
There is a mountain of info available about this gun.
In fact I accumulated so much info that I started this web page to keep it all on
and to make it available to everyone. Please feel free to go and dig around. It's stillunder
"construction" but the Mods and Information Forums have loads of info.

Hi Roald

Thanks for chiming in with your link to the information. Unfortunatly I have no access to that forum but it is great that you have chosen to share. Maybe we could put it on the GTA?...:)

Thanks

Gene, yes you do have access to this forum...... why ever not??
It's a NW54 forum owned and paid for by me.
I place links to all sites from thereupon request (don't want to link without permission)
So please go ahead and visit it. It's open to "public" viewingso you don't even need a NW54
login / ID but even if yourold onehasno access to certain "other" forums it'll be good on mine.
I try to keep out of ....errrr .... the "Politics" that occur from time to time ;-)

Look forward to seeing you there Gene.... and yes by all means ... link anywhere you like.
I wanted to change the format of the site slightly and have a "Link Library" likethe one here.
We have started getting support from some folks in the business.I think that
those will be the only links tobe on the main page going forward.... decisions descisions... how
do you guys do all this stuff and hold down a job? :o
I only get weekends to work on this stuff and thats my shooting time
Luckily the site has slowed up a bit (wrong season for CO2) :emoticon:

Well Roald, both Bob and me are retired, and do not have a big family to feed...:) But we stay pretty busy with the forum and our small busineses. We love this stuff and just want as many people as possible to learn about air guns in a safe manner. Your site is coming along great as I can see it. And  yes the CO2's stuff is a bit slow in the winter but you can always shoot them from inside your house..:) Just put a hole somewhere and shoot.. hehehe.
