Squirrels don't have long memories...
« on: November 19, 2007, 05:35:22 AM »

Got a treat today as I drove into the driveway of my home.  2 squirrels in the backyard frolicking like all was well.

I brought the girls inside and some of the groceries, grabbed the 34' and a crosman dome and opened the sliding glass door to the back yard.  The tripod was already out there and all I had to do was add the bag.  The squirrels were digging and eating oblivious to my intentions.  I set the 34' on the bag, put the crosshairs on the one furthest away began to slow my breathing. 5 seconds later he sat up nice and pretty and I let the pellet fly.  I was absolutely astounded to hear the "CRACK" as the dome it home.  I have never heard a hit that loud before.  Following suit, he hit the ground and made only a couple leg twitches before ceasing to exist.

I brought in the rest of the groceries and put them away.  I then put the small one down for a nap and went to check on my prize.  I was a bit surprised to see so much blood on the ground but when I examined the squirrel I understood why.  The pellet hit him between the eye and ear and exited the very same way.  Just where I'd aimed and at 35 yards I don't have to correct for distance.

Here's the pics.

I haven't had one pop like that either.
Ain't it funny how shots just come up like that sometimes?
Good work and thanks for the pic.
