We had an unseasonably warm day yesterday (almost 80)with today supposedly being the same.
I packed up early this morning and took off to John's place in Gainesville (about 1.5hr drive)
for a paper punching session that we spent over an hour planninglast night.
Well..... the day turned out dreary and cold, starting out at 60 and getting colder as the day wore on.
We were still having fun despite the cold though.
The temperatures had caused the 850's MVdrop to about 650fps, but even so it was still spot on all day.
Anyhow around lunch time this tree rat came and sat in the big oak tree to the right of the targets (see pic) John, not being able to see from where he was, gave me the nod to take it.
It was between 20 to 25 yards (the targets are at 37yards) and I aimed for the spot between his eye and ear. It was spot on. He dropped out of the tree like a stone.
He did do the "death dance" for a good 10 to 15 seconds though, kinda like a chicken after it's head gets chopped off....

So even at 650fps (maybe a tad faster) at 25yards the 850 will still knock a squirrel on it's butt.
The moreI shoot this thing the happier I get with it :-)
