New Scope on my CFX
« on: December 19, 2007, 04:17:53 PM »
I just received my new scope for my CFX. It is a little bigger than I expected.....It is a 6-24X56AG Nikko Stirling NightEater. The one with the nice big side wheel included.

It is mounted on an accushot 1 pc mount (I think it is the high mount).

I love looking in the scope and the 'feel' of the scope. It is to dark here to have shot it now (stupid short days in winter....). I will try that tomorrow I hope.

As you can see in the picture it is really close to the loading port, but with my little tiny fingers I am still able to easily load pellets (I think). There is definitely no using the 3 inch sunshade that came with it. hahahaha

The wires for the crosshairs are quite thin. A lot thinner than the CenterPoint 4-16x40 and Bushnell 3-9x30 that I have. And thinner than the nikko 3-12x50 that this is replacing.

Pics until I get to try it

NICE  8) . Looks like a gold trigger on her too. :p . Should be a great shooter. Now lets see how fast you can screw the sunshade on the scope after you load a pellet..hehe. Good luck with her Martin.

what kind of price did you get on it and let me know how it works out. I have simmons 44 mags on all mine and I am thinking about moving up a bit in size.

Finally got out today and got to shot some on my new setup 6-24X56 Nikko NightEater.

The pellet loading is not hard. It only took a few pellets to get the hang of it. It is no harder for me (with little hands) than the loading was before with the 3-12X50 nikko stirling that I had.

I really really really like the side wheel. I really like the accuracy of the range finding with the scope at 24x zoom. I had to shim the back about 0.020 inch with the accushot one piece high 30mm mount. I will get a drooper mount or modify the one I have to add about .030 inches of droop.

I will finish sighting it is soon and report more later.
